We Are All In The Entertainment Business

Posted on: November 29, 2012

From the definition, entertainment is the amusement or enjoyment or capturing of  one’s attention not for manipulation but rather to offer an indelible experience. Unfortunately when we hear entertainment we only think of actors and musical performers collectively called artists. We pay large amounts of money to “escape” reality and venture in to the world of the entertainer. Now this is not restricted to just actors and musical performers. In fact, the more you view yourself as an entertainer, the more in tuned you are with your audience. Remember the word…..indelible experience. It doesn’t matter what you are offering, if it is not an indelible experience, you are loosing your audience. You are actually giving them an indelible experience to never want to be entertained by you again, which is an opportunity to clean up your act and then approach them again. There is the 6 month rule. A bad experience, even a good one only lasts 6 months and you have another opportunity to perform again!

All in all if whatever you are embarking on is not entertaining to you first, then it surely wont entertain your audience and we all are in need of escaping reality every now and then!
