Creating A Market Versus Finding One.

Posted on: October 8, 2012

You can create a market but that is risky or you can go out on a limb and find out what the market is buying…But upon experimenting, the businesses that create a market tend to be way more riskier and with a higher return on investment if done right than the ones that find an already existing market! But what is the determining factor that would make one go after creation and one go after conformation?

Two main factors to consider while making the decision are:-

  1. Who you are…your business DNA are you a creator, a team player, an investor etc
  2. Your comprehension of the market.

Everyone has an exact DNA build up that will resonate with their values which in turn dictates what they do. Believe it or not, DNA is fluidic and adapts to micro changes in what we eat, what we drink our environment and what we are exposed to!It’s heavily influences what you end up  doing both in business and life. Secondly, to create a market, one must have an  intimate understanding of the market. What are their fears, what are their desires and only then through a high level of intimate connection can one venture of and create a new product or service and create a new market based on collected knowledge. Quite frankly a fresh new product and new market is extremely risky without prior market validation and besides like the old saying goes…”There is nothing new under the sun”…..most things are spin offs from something that was already in existence!

So which one should you engage in?

The one that resonates with you first, then second the one that you can offer the greatest impact.
