Stop selling! No One Sells, But People Buy…..The New Marketing Strategy

Posted on: May 18, 2012

You went to the grocery store! Did you find a man hustling you to buy the tube of toothpaste? How about when you went to the restaurant? Did the chef come up with a plate and ask you to buy? You chose what to buy based on:

  1. Advertising
  2. Branding
  3. Peer recommendation

Then why are people screaming and yelling BUY BUY BUY……! People hate to be told what to do unless……it is in their best interest and unfortunately we don’t trust you! So rather than trying to sell, do the above three and put your products up for sale! There is a difference! Putting up products for sale means that you believe in yourself! You believe in your product! The sale is not as important as the value it will deliver! You have our best interests at heart!

Quit selling! Start putting your products up for sale and focus on branding which in my language is giving away value everyday not to influence a sale, but to influence the decision of the sale! A sale is temporary, it is the end result of the buying process, the decision is long lasting! It is a relationship! It says i trust you enough to buy from you!

Happy weekend!
