The Art Of “Copy Catting” The Noble Way!

Posted on: September 14, 2011

The wheel has been invented. There were mistakes made, there were lessons learned. You want to start a business and have found your niche but then you are overwhelmed by the amount of clutter out there! What do you do?

I learned a long time that if you want to go where you have never been(do what you have never done???) consult those that have been there! Do what you have never done does not guarantee that you will end up where you have never been! If you mess around you may even end up on very familiar grounds and what a waste of time, energy and maybe money! I by the way am not advocating you copy everyone on the block, but to get your feet in, it is a wise place to start.

Copy catting does not mean that you duplicate. It simply means that you emulate. There is a difference. Emulating means you match or surpass the results formerly achieved where as duplicating is simply executing the exact same procedure and hoping for similar results. One emphasizes on the strategy the other emphasizes on the results. Before researchers begin their plight, they try and read as many papers from journals to see what systems were used and what results were acquired to determine a good starting point.

In business i suggest you emulate the same. Find a company that has already done what you are hoping to achieve and symbiotically collaborate.Once you have your brand up and running, you can always do the creative stuff that you have been dreaming about! The intention is to eliminate waste of resources in energy and money. You don’t have to go at it alone!

Become a professional “copy catter”! It pays good dividends and eliminates clutter!
