A sharper Knife cuts more efficiently….

Posted on: January 24, 2011

Not more accurately or more precisely as those are controlled human factors which depend on user’s training, beliefs, consciousness, enthusiasm and so on. If the knife though, is used by even the most unconscious, uninterested, untrained individual it will cut according to the input received. Unfortunately many of us forget to sharpen our knives before we embark on the cutting. Sharpening the knife according to most physicists is also known as prepping the force multiplier. This theory states that you can easily magnify the effect of a single action by simply taking a little extra time to find how and where its impact will be felt the most using the least amount of effort.

For example:

1.       Building relationships prior to selling your products.

2.       Actively listening to what your customers really want.

3.       Focusing on the results and how to deliver them on time on budget and in good quality.

4.       Knowing everything there is to know about the business you’re about to embark on.

5.       Having results tested systems in place that will consistently deliver expected outcomes. E.g. Your hiring process should find an enthusiased employee that is passionate, self motivated and results driven so if the employee doesn’t deliver, they are partly to blame but the major chunk of the responsibility should lye on you for having an inefficient hiring system.
